About this Event
For Bodhi’s first birthday, we’d love for you to help us express gratitude to Riley Children’s Hospital for giving Bodhi the gift of life. Come dance salsa, bachata, & some fun American wedding classics with DJ Torres, grab some snacks & sweets, and participate in the 50/50 raffle. There will be a bouncy house for kiddos (signed waiver required) and some photo opportunities.
In place of birthday presents, we are requesting a minimum donation of $10 per person. You can donate directly to Riley Children’s Foundation here: https://give.rileykids.org/fundraiser/4666575?is_new=true
All donations (minus the cost of the venue) will be donated directly to Riley Children’s Hospital. Thank you to DJ Jorge Torres for graciously donating his time, to Kyle Culmann for partnering with us for the event, and to everyone else who is helping to make this event as low cost as possible! Cheers to Riley!
If you would like to celebrate Bodhi and support Riley from afar, please send your donation to @Brynn_Rojas on Venmo. We appreciate your thoughtfulness 😊
Bodhi’s birth story: At 39 weeks and 1 day, Brynn got out of bed and didn’t feel Bodhi kick, which he always did first thing every morning. The midwives did a stress test and determined that Bodhi needed to be checked out at Riley. We were there for a short while when they said Brynn would need to be induced, but shortly after that decision was made, Bodhi’s heart rate dropped dangerously low and they decided to do an emergency c-section. Bodhi was admitted to the NICU and for the next several days, the doctors did everything they could to determine if any of his organs were damaged. Ultimately, his kidneys were the only organs that posed serious concern, but within 15 days, they were functioning well enough for us all to go home. Having a wireless baby was the best feeling in the world! Bodhi’s (hopefully) final nephrology appointment is scheduled for April 19, and we are expecting to find that his kidneys have made a full recovery 😊 We were truly in the right place at the right time, and we now - more than ever - understand the value of each precious second. We couldn’t be more grateful for Bodhi’s outcome.
Thank you to Chris’s family and Brynn’s family for taking such good care of Emmett during the two weeks that Chris and Brynn spent at Riley.
Thank you to Gina Leman for being there and helping ask the right questions right before Bodhi made his entrance.
Thank you to all the folks who supported Chris and Brynn with delicious and healthy meals while Bodhi was in the NICU.
We’re forever grateful ♥️
