Salsaldi Dura with DJ Lubi & Paris Allen

After 18 months off due to the pandemic, Salsaldi Events are glad to announce that WE ARE BACK! In September, we return to our longtime home the British Legion in Wilmslow for our combined 12th Birthday/Relaunch Party/Charity Event on Saturday 11th September and then we return to our monthly party as usual after that. The venue is looking amazing after a refurb including a dancefloor upgrade. You will be smiling all night long as you dance on this lovely newly varnished wooden floor. More good news. We will now have TWO Salsaldi Events parties a month at the Legion from September as we launch a new session on Friday 24th September - Salsaldi Dura - a night of heavy salsa for the dancers! With so many parties these days catering for a mixed night of salsa/bachata/kizomba (50:50, SBK etc), Salsaldi Dura will bring you the harder side of salsa with a touch of mambo, cha cha cha, son Cubano and sprinkle of salsa romantica and bachata. On the decks every month is Salsaldi boss and resident DJ Jane Salsaldi. For this first session on 24th September, Jane teams up again with her longtime DJ colleague, friend and mentor, DJ Lubi aka Lubi Jovanovic. If you've danced in the UK or internationally in the last 3 decades, you'll know DJ Lubi. UK salsa pioneer since the mid-1980s. International salsa congress DJs in the 2000s plus compilation album curator/compiler of over 50 salsa/Latin/Cuban titles. In the last decade, he's best known as co-promoter of the north of England's biggest and best multi-room salsa/kizomba/bachata/Latin party "Calle Ocho Leeds'', promoter of the best live salsa gigs outside London (La Excelencia, Trombornaga, La Maxima 79), and of course since 2012, resident/DJ and promoter of one of the busiest weekly salsa/Latin parties in the UK, "Salsa Social" every Wednesday at Revolucion De Cuba Manchester. After the pandemic closure and also many great years at "Salsa Social'', Lubi has now stepped down from the latter and has also semi-retired from the salsa scene. He still comes out for one-off special occasions and parties like this one so it's great to have him back rocking a dancefloor again for the salsa dancers and reunited once again with his longtime DJ partner Jane Salsaldi. Before the social begins, we have a great salsa dance class from another legend of the UK salsa scene. Manchester salsa pioneer and ace dance teacher Paris Allen.
