Salsanama Qualifier! Entry $25 per person 1st place wins 1 roundtrip flight (Equivalent cost from ATL), Lodging (during the competition), Entry into the Las Vegas Finals plus Event pass to Las Vegas Super Congress. Winners will also win Passes to the Instanbul Salsa Congress sponsered by SalSero LANY *****Rules*********** 1 - The competition will be one vs. one asking dancers to improvise. 2 - The title of the song to be used will be chosen on the spot. 3 - The competitors will each have 40 second to improvise, twice for round 4 - The influence of other Caribbean styles such as, rumba, Afro, pachanga, reggaeton, etc will allowed. 5 - Jumps / Tricks: lifting both feet off of the ground will be allowed with the only purpose of interpreting the music correctly. A sequence of tricks done rondomly.even if applied technically sound will not be taken into consideration buy the judges, as La “ Salserita ” is the main focus of this competition. 6 - The song being selected will come from various styles of salsa. In addition, line dancing can be applied to a timba song or vice-versa. This will be accepted in order to provide the most freedom the partecipants’ improvisation. 7 - Women must compete with heels shoes JOLLY / WILDCARD In the afternoon competition, every participant will be able to use the wildcard to make a song change. In case the competitor advances to the night final and he did not use the wildcard, he will not be able to use it then, as the final provides its own wildcard. The amount of urns will be decided in that moment depending on the amount of registered dancers in the category. From 2019 the competition will have all the urns that will play simultaneously. E.g.: If there were two urns, the first couple of the urn 1 would challenge before and next the first couple of the urn 2. Doing like this until couples are exhausted. In the eventual eliminated challengers repechaging and we will take account of one single group from the two turns. *********Competition Rules*********** This system is valid for ALL categories - All competitors will be subdivided into three pools by draw, which will take place in front of all participants. - Competitors who come from the same school/company will be split into the three pools by draw in their presence, In each pool, the dancers will be competing in direct elimination to advance to the finals. The number of finalists will depend on the number of participants in each pool - Normal Re-draw: If a team does not have a challenger in the first stage due to the number of participants, then the judges will find one from the eliminated teams in the same pool Obligatory Re-draw: If normal re-draw is not required, then the judges will choose a couple of competitors eliminated in the previous stage to compete against each other to find a place in the finals - The champion will go to Vegas and Compete in the Finals of the Competition representing the Southeast. *********MUSIC**************** Here you have the music list that we gonna use at Salsanamà 2019 - to give rhythm to the competition some song can be speeded - Songs with different intro (like rumba etc.) gonna be edited to ensure that they will start directly from the salsa part.
