SalsaNow Progressive Course: Special Holiday Edition

Kickoff this Holiday season by taking your Latin Dancing to the next level! Join us for the first 3 Mondays of December as SalsaNow instructor Gaby teaches a very special course on the fundamentals of Latin styling and technique. **This class will take place from 6-7 PM at The Ideal Arts studio and will run parallel to the usual progressive course taught by SalsaNow instructor Daniel** SCHEDULE: 4 courses total, 3 weeks long (12/4, 12/11, 12/18) 6 PM - Fundamentals of Latin Styling and Technique w/ Gaby 6 PM - Salsa Level I/Beginner w/ Daniel 7 PM - Salsa Level II/Patterns and Combinations w/ Daniel & Gaby 8 PM - Bachata Patterns and Combinations w/ Daniel & Gaby COST: One class walk-in - $15/person Full 3-week course - $30/person/course SYLLABUS: 6 PM class w/ Gaby - Fundamentals of Latin Styling and Technique: **Course is intended to expand upon established foundations of Latin dancing. Students are expected to be comfortable with Salsa and Bachata basics, including the basic steps and turns for these dances. Newcomers to these dances are instead strongly encouraged to attend the 6 PM beginner course taught by Daniel** Week 1 - December 4th This class is open to both leads and follows. We will focus on body movement and isolation, covering topics such as contra-body movement, cuban motion, feet positioning, and proper posture technique. Week 2 - December 11th This class is focused on the basics of ladies/follow styling. We will briefly discuss following technique and then delve into arm/wrist technique, ranging from finger shaping and wrist leads to arm positioning and upper body technique whilst turning. Week 3 - December 18th This class continues to explore the basics of ladies/follow styling. Here, we will cover syncopations, pauses, and the basics of turning/spinning technique. We will wrap up the course by also quickly recapping the month's fundamental skills through a short solo pattern.
