About this Event
Join us for an afternoon of Samba workshops and culture.
'Alegria’ means joy, delight and exhilaration in Brazilian Portuguese. It’s the feeling we get when we make samba together and we want to share.
On offer:
- Drum Workshops from Rob Arcari (Mestre - Bloco 3K) and Lucas Saad Tambelli (Mestre - Samba VIbes)
- Dance Workshops from Denise Kayan (Princesa de Bateria - Unidos de Ponte) and Gianne Abbott (Australian Ambassador of APASB - the Brazilian Samba Passistas Association)
- Body Percussion Workshop with Marina Da Silva (Founder & Director - House of Rhythm & ILE ILU, Performer at Junkyard Beats)
- A collection of brazilian snacks and cake to keep you moving.
Samba communities in Brazil continue to experience the economic impact of COVID. We will be fundraising to support samba communities in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo with ‘Ritmo Solidário’.
