Two native Brazilians will get together in Boulder to share their culture and traditions through movement and music on two workshops.
Luciana Martins Da Silva will take all levels of Samba no pé dancers on a fun journey of easy to follow samba combinations cultivating integrity of movements.
For the first time in Colorado, Tania Santiago will present her expertise on Afro Brazilian Dance creating a deep understand of history and traditions of the dances presented.
This is an unique opportunity to study with two great Brazilian teachers on the same day. You will not want to miss it!

Biographies
Luciana Da Silva, is a native Brazilian who loves to share her passion for Samba through teaching and performing as well offering an understanding of Culture and history of Samba. She returns home once a year spending time in Rio de Janeiro and Bahia to deepen her studies of Samba and Afro Brazilian Dances. She spent 20 days in Mangueira community in 2013 where she intensively studied with Queen of Bateria of Mangueira Fabiana Oliveira , who taught Luciana graceful passista style. In 2014 she parade at carnaval in Rio with Mangueira Samba School. She continues her Samba studies in USA with Aninha Malandro, Alvaro Reys and Tania Santiago. She currently teaches Samba at Colorado College and a variety of dances at Colorado Springs Conservatory and is the director and choreographer of Sambrasil Dance Company.
Born and raised in Salvador, Bahia, Tania Santiago has taught, danced, and choreographed for the most well known companies in Brazil, most notably Olodum, the world renowned Bloco Afro. In 1999 Tania founded the Aguas Dance Company in SF and through it has worked to honor and preserve the deep roots of traditional Afro Brazilian dance. Aguas has performed on some of the Bay Area’s best stages including, Dance Mission Theater, Brava Theater, Herbst Theater, ODC and the Palace of Fine Arts. Most recently, Aguas has performed at the Cuba Caribe and Black Choreographer’s Festivals and at ODC’s Dance and Diaspora. Tania performs with her own company and has also danced and guest choreographed with the Ramon Alayo Dance Company and the Deep Waters Dance Company.
