💃✨ Two Unique Samba de Gafieira Workshops with Guest Teacher Luís Dali. Get ready for a double experience that brings the past and present of Samba de Gafieira to life — through story, rhythm, and movement! 🇧🇷🪩 Whether you’re new to dancing or already dancing Samba, Forró, Zouk, or Salsa — these open-level workshops are designed to inspire, connect, and get everyone dancing. 🎭 Workshop 1: 💃🇧🇷✨ A Fictional Story of Samba de Gafieira (heavily based on reality) In a mix of class and a (very easy and fun) theatrical experience, we will be characters to reenact the story of what we know today as Samba de Gafieira. 🎭💃 You will meet the precursor dance called Maxixe, that came as a social response to the elitist ballroom dance reality of Rio de Janeiro in the 19th Century. 🌆🕺 We will not only understand intellectually, but feel and experiment Maxixe, this prohibited but not forgotten dance, which still, to this day, serves as the aesthetical base for many Brazilian social dances like Forró, and, even more directly, our beloved Samba de Gafieira. 💚💛🎶 We will not only actively participate in this historical ride, but also learn: 🎵 3 Maxixe Dynamics 🔄 The Anti-Clockwise Round Concept 🪩 2–3 Samba de Gafieira Figures 💫 And exercise the courage to improvise, create, and own your dance journey moving forward! 🌟 No experience needed — just bring your curiosity, energy, and an open mind!
