Workshop Schedule: 1:00-2:00pm | Samba Fundamentals Instructor: Katreena Cardenas Have you always wanted to learn how to dance Brazilian Samba? Well now is your chance in this intro to samba workshop. Begin your journey in learning the basic footwork and rhythm of Samba. Learn to loosen up them hips and feel the passion and joy that samba brings. 2:00-3:00pm | Samba Reggae Dance Instructor: Cayo Santana with Live Drumming from Bloco Vivo Learn the fundamentals of Bahia, Brazil’s most celebrated rhythm—Samba Reggae, a mix of beautiful Brazilian Samba rhythms with the swing of Jamaican Reggae. It is a fun and soulful dance; and a great workout! 3:00-4:00pm | Drumming Instructor: Cayo Santana Come join us for a dynamic & entertaining percussion workshop, inspired by Samba-Reggae rhythm. Samba reggae is a style of music originally from Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, a blend of Brazilian Samba and Jamaican Reggae with Cayo Santana from Bahia; an instructor with more than 16 years experience. The workshop will introduce the basic rhythms & breaks from bands like; Timbalada, Olodum and Muzenza. Drum Reservation: 10 drums provided on a first come first serve basis.
