@IESocial "Same Gender $250 Latin Dance Open" Hosted by Andrew Cervantez and Francisco Junior Want to compete or show your support for same gender Latin dancing? @IESocial hosts a unique event created to promote inclusivity for all dancers. @IESocial 7/15/2017 Same Gender Latin Dance Open Competition Rules Rules and Guidelines: Showcase or choreographed routines should be no longer than 2 min and no shorter than 1:30. All types of music is permitted. No more than three songs permitted in one showcase/choreography. NOTE: This is a Latin Dance competition (i.e., Salsa, Bachata, Cha Cha Cha, Zouk, Tango, etc…) so the routine should be at least 70% Latin and 30% others. No more than five tricks are permitted whether 1 foot stays on the ground or both feet in the air. The competition is open to both genders, however you must be partnered with the same sex. Shines are permitted. Costume is highly encouraged as you will be judged on presentation. No street shoes and or dress shoes permitted. Must be DANCE SHOES. TRICKS DEFINITION: Any moves that needs assisting and or cannot be done alone. If the torso goes below the waist it is considered a trick. Unless you can demonstrate to the judges that you can do it yourself. If the leg comes off the ground and the leader is holding or assisting you it is considered a trick. TIMING: If you are dancing “On 1” you must break on the 1 and on the 5! If you are dancing “On 2” you must break on the 2 and on the 6! You must maintain a full eight count when demonstrating your basic. Marking only 1 and 5 or 2 and 6 is not considered a full basic and you will be deducted points. JUDGING CRITERIA: Timing - 20% Choreography and musicality - 20% Difficulty - 20% Presentation and connection - 20% Audience reaction - 20% 3 Divisions — Pro, Pro-Am, and Amateur.
