About this Event
A deep dive into Konpa, Kizomba, Salsa history, dance, & culture, using the Ghanian principle of Sankofa, "taking from the past what is good & bringing it into the future." This workshop with Butherly Lubin, aka "Buttah", will conclude with a short performance by attendees. 20 max attendees.

Out of Towners: Hotels are located right off the I-95 exit 160 or I-20 at exit 141. There is a mall, Target, Barnes and Nobles, and restaurants. This area is 10-15 minutes from the venue. There are many hotels in the area.

About the Instructor:
Butherly Lubin hails from Haiti and currently lives in New Jersey. He has grown up dancing Haitian Konpa and folklore as well as Hip Hop and Zouk. He trained in Salsa and Bachata through Hot Salsa in New Jersey and then added Kizomba to his dance repertoire. He now travels extensively throughout the Midwest teaching and performing Kizomba and Bachata. He has performed as a variety of festivals and congresses including Philadelphia Salsa Congress and the DC Bachata and Kizomba Congress. He continues to be motivated by a passion for dance which he loves to share with others on every dance floor.
