On Christmas Eve I received a phone call from my father in tone of despair giving me the sad news that his pregnant partner was rushed to hospital... after a few complications, they performed an emergency cesarean and my baby brother Sandro was born in Mozambique with only 26 weeks (6 months). Unfortunately public hospitals in Mozambique don’t have the means to care for situations like this, so Sandro is being treated in a private clinic with a excellent team of doctors and nurses, however, due to the 24hour care this comes with a very high cost of €1600 A Day!!! The time Sandro will need to remain in incubator it’s not been determined yet, as he still unable to breath or eating naturally yet and weights less than 1kg (2lb) which means he is too fragile to be transferred to a different country. All the odds indicated that he wasn't going to make it, but Sandro is a fighter, and he's not giving up, and I won't either... Although this is a personal case happening to one of my own I urge you to remember Sandro is just a child that happen to be born at the wrong place and wrong time... As the oldest son (and brother) I feel is my duty to cover this urgent costs as my father and family alone cannot afford it. With the help of true friends and humble hearts we managed to came up with day full of entertainment and surprises.
