SDM Practilonga (Tango Social Dance)

Hola Tango lovers!! - Do you take Tango lessons? - Do you feel intimidated or uncomfortable when you go to a Milonga (Tango Social Dance)? Don’t worry, because a lot of Tango students, and also Tango dancers who has been dancing for a while now, they still find it daunting and challenging to decide when is the right time to go for a Milonga (Tango Social Dance). Why? The reason is that to be in an environment that is not familiar and many times (SADLY), no very welcoming, doesn’t help us to enjoy what we really want to do... …To dance Tango! Now we are ready to change the game! Every last Sunday of the month ‘Showy Dance Melbourne’ will host monthly PRACTILONGA! What is OUR SDM PRACTILONGA? It’s a place where we create a relaxed Tango gathering that combines the learning atmosphere of a Práctica with the social feeling of a Milonga. Just great moments of Tango dancing within a respectful atmosphere. A place where everyone can dance with everyone, without ANY Judgement. Dancers can practice, experiment, ask questions, and also enjoy social dancing in an informal environment. When: Day of our NEXT monthly PRACTILONGA. 👉 Sunday 27th of September 2026. Time: From 1 pm to 5 pm: - 1 pm: Tango class: Every month we have a special Tango workshop. On May we did VALS. On June we did MILONGA. On July we did TANGO NUEVO. On August will be MILONGA. (by special request) On September will be TRADITIONAL TANGO. (Sequences to apply on the dance floor) The class will be Open Level. You will learn the basics of Traditional Tango with patters to apply later on the dance floor during the PRACTILONGA. - 2 pm to 5pm: PRACTILONGA: Time for Tango Social dancing. When you arrive, we will explain our Tango dancing code of courtesy. 😊 If you are one of our Tango students or has been in our “Showy Dance Melbourne” Tango classes you already know how we behave at SDM. (Very friendly)😉 Amenities: - Complimentary coffee, tea & biscuits provided & of course a nice and great glass of wine to recover and continue the evening 😉 🎂🎈 We will also be celebrating the birthdays of the Tangueros born on September. 🎂🎈 If you were born on September, please let us know and we will provide a cake, and you will get FREE entry!
