We will be exploring larger skill sets used in common Blues dances that will allow you to dance to Blues music, with Blues dancers in a social dance setting. Grooving, partnering constructs, floorcraft, improvisation, and conversational interplay will be the main focus for our afternoon. Directions to Studio Arcadia From I-5 north or south, take I-90 east and get off at the first exit, Rainier Ave. South, and turn right (southbound). Turn Left at the next light, Massachusetts. Turn Left at the next light, 23rd Ave. South. Go about 1/2 mile and turn Right (east) on Dearborn (also a light). Turn left at the first street, 24th Ave. South and park. If you're coming from the eastside, westbound on I-90, take the SECOND Rainier Ave Exit, so that you're heading southbound on Rainier. Then follow the directions as above. If you're in Seattle and don't want to take I-5, just find your way to 23rd Ave and follow the directions as above. (It's the arterial that extends from Wedgewood/Ravenna, where it's 25th Ave, across the Montlake bridge, where it soon becomes 24th Ave., and eventually becomes 23rd, extending all the way to Rainier.) It's the first house on the left as you turn on to 24th. (NW corner of 24th and Dearborn.) …big white house with an arched roof and holly hedge. There's parking on 24th and on Dearborn. The studio is around back, behind the house. When you come in the gate, you'll see the stone path on your right – it leads around the house to the deck. The studio is the detached building on your right as you approach the deck. Come on in. The address is 725 24th Ave. South.
