She has spent 15+ years in the worldwide network of the Ecstatic Dance scene, including Lake Atitlan Guatemala, Bali Indonesia, Portland, Ashland, Mt. Shasta & Eugene OR, LA, Harbin, Nevada City, upstate NY & Maui HI, as well as at an abunDance of Transformational Music Festivals & gatherings over the years. She passionately knows the power of music & embodiment as a path to healing, empowerment & liberation through dance & yoga, practice & play ~ to open the body, activate energy channels, get the shakti rising & release energy in a positive, fun and healthy way, while reconnecting to one’s Body, Heart, Soul & Spirit ! *** Shakti Rising weaves a diverse full spectrum tapestry of yummy, conscious, high vibe Tribal & World Beats/Bass, Temple/Medicine Bass, Organic infused Electronic, Sacred soundscapes & Elemental infusions, aiming for Ecstatic and Next Level musical musings ~ Born & raised in Portland OR, Sitara was the founder & curator behind Unity Ecstatic Dance Ashland for 4.5 years. She offered her first 3 Ecstatic Dance sets in Lake Atitlan, Guatemala in 2012 & began live mixing in 2023.
