Za and Larisa are headed back to Seattle We'll be in town for a few days and want to spend some real time with the community. Here's the full breakdown. 📍 Location: Salsa Con Todo, Seattle, WA THURSDAY, JULY 16 🕘 9:00–10:00 PM | Pre-Lab Workshop, $15 (sign up with ScT) 🕙 10:00 PM | Social Dance Kick the weekend off with a focused one-hour session before the Westie Lab social. Stay after and be Tingled. FRIDAY, JULY 17 🕘 8:00 PM | Drop-In Lesson, $20 (sign up with ScT) An easy entry point into the weekend. Show up and dance. SATURDAY, JULY 18 — Workshop Block 🕑 2:00–3:30 PM | The DNA of West Coast Swing ☕ 3:30–4:00 PM | Dance Break 🕓 4:00–5:30 PM | The Seattle Melt 🕗 8:00 PM | The Dumb Stuff 🕘 9:00 PM | Social Dance The DNA of West Coast Swing breaks down three core principles that make this dance what it is: connection, rhythm, and direction. We'll put them together with one goal, find the soul of WCS. The Seattle Melt is built for dancers actively competing or preparing to. Seattle is known for its gooey connection and curious shaping, and also for the Seattle Freeze. It occurred to me when I left that the way Seattle dancers move is exactly how that freeze gets melted, and it's a big part of what makes this one of the warmest communities I've ever been part of. We'll learn how to do it on purpose, finding that gooey connection and using shaping to deepen it. The Dumb Stuff is all the fun, stupid things we do when we're done being proper and just want to fool around on the floor. We'll be laughing all night. Social starts at 9:00 PM and goes until we drop.
