Allow your vitality to be amplified by the the soothing current of Dustin's healing sounds, as we balance ourselves to the spring season! *Sam Bottner is a teacher of yoga, meditation, and qigong as well as a musician and sound healer. His passion is to empower others on their unique paths of growth and share new access points to Presence. *Dustin Borlack is a world-class musician specializing in percussion, didgeridoo, and idiopan. He plays in a number of musical projects around Chicago and is a facilitator of deep, powerful, and meditative multi-instrumental sound experiences. -=Steve Hetzel=- Steve is a career music teacher and vocalist, pianist, and self-taught guitarist, having taught and lived in Oregon, Argentina, Brazil, and Chicago. She has likewise trained with Seattle’s Becky Bloom, and has performed as a member of Tim Hickey’s 459 Tap Company and Jessie Sawyer’s Seattle Tap Collective. Anabel has been fortunate to perform solo pieces in selective showcases, many self-choreographed. She has also choreographed for group and solo pieces in varied venues and has background studying hip-hop, flamenco, and ballet from well-known Seattle based dancers. For the past 17 years, her passion stemming from her Afro/Latin Caribbean dance roots has paved a unique path of performance and education with travels throughout the North, Central, South America and the Caribbean. Her cultural depiction through performing arts, workshops and costume design is showcased through her label, Chi-Caribena Designs. In recent years, she has evolved into a story teller. As an elemental dancer, Sirène uses water, fire, air, and earth as props for her dance pieces. Some of Sirène’s highlighted performances and workshops include: The Chosen Few House Festival, Envision Festival, Figment, Samba Girl VS. He believes that everyone is doing their best at any given moment AND that expanding our version of 'best' can be accomplished through the release of stress, healing of trauma, and the loving consideration of the body. As a special education teacher in Chicago for the past 10 years, Jay understands that he must meet each person he works with right where they are in their consciousness. Through the use of the gong, crystal bowls, shakers, voice, and guitar, Jay takes participants on a Sound Voyage that results in the total relaxation of the physical body, re-tuning of the energetic body, and the release of accumulated heavy energy. Jay is also happy to announce that Alex Brescanu will be joining him on percussion and flute. ---> www.facebook.com/currentvibrations -=Nomadica=- For my solo performance I will choose a song that represents my personal struggle from winter of sadness to spring of long- awaited opportunities and new friendships. I’ve been sowing seeds of hard work and hope and watering them with my tears. And now joy is blooming after the pain! Later on in the night I'll be leading “Budding community ” (group movement) Dance of awakening friendships/ communities. The snow is thawing and so are our bodies and hearts. Movement starting slow, in a circle, the getting bigger and at the end, when everyone is holding hands and dancing together. Movement style is slow and meditative and somewhat similar to Arabic/ Indian dance. I want to do a community dance, inspired by my childhood- like I did as a child at weddings, family events etc. ---> www.facebook.com/ra.movement -=Bruce D’Souza - Live Painting Visionary Artist/Illustrator=- Bruce D’Souza is a Chicago based fine artist that specializes in exploring of the human experience by highlighting it’s polarity. Depicting the pain and pleasures of human experience. Bruce sees the world from a very unique lens and is able to share his vision through deeply narrative, surreal works. This highly trained and experienced artist is able to tell entire stories with only paint and his brush, describing entirely new worlds from a single frame using dualistic themes and imagery to take viewers on a journey through his imagination and consciousness. His mission, to challenge the viewer to explore new boundaries and ideas through dualistic concepts as he presents the world through various lenses. -=Emily Broeker (Tap Dancing)=- Emily grew up dancing in Minneapolis and obtained her B.A. in dance with distinction from the University of Minnesota. She has been performing professionally for 11 years with companies such as Buckets and Tap Shoes, Chicago Tap Theatre, Flying Foot Forum, Eclectic Edge Ensemble, and Keane Sense Of Rhythm.Emily’s true passion is dance instruction, and she has been teaching dance for a period of eight years. In order to expand her knowledge of dance pedagogy, she regularly attends professional development trainings for dance instructors. -=TomCat Trumpet Brassy Backflipping Trumpet Player=- Tom Burke is the son of Broadway trumpet player and world renowned musician Tim Burke. He’s following his father’s footsteps in his own vibrant way. The two of them are often seen on stage together in high energy trumpet duels. He is also the host of The TomCat Trumpet Experience, Chicago’s most unique monthly variety show featuring the city’s finest musicians, poets, entertainers, and visual artists. After making his debut at Electric Forest Music Festival last year, TomCat has brought his elaborate and colorful shows to venues such as: The Green Mill Cocktail Lounge, Bourbon on Division, Davenports Piano Bar, Elbo Room, Tonic Room, and many more. Listeners are taken on a musical journey through swingin’ jazz licks, groovy basslines, and on the spot improvised jams with guest musicians. He is also known to do the occasional backflip on stage as well...it’s really quite the ‘experience’. ---> www.facebook.com/tomcattrumpet -=Sarah Lemley (Unearthing Movement)=- Sarah is a devoted student of the bond between soul and body through this shared experience we call consciousness. She is dedicating her life to exploring these connections with others. Her fascination with dance sprouted as early as 2009 and the propagation of learning to heal and express herself through movement has been abundant through her education and onward. She’s been blessed to work and study with a huge variety of Chicago and West Coast dance professionals over the past 5 years. Sarah's studies gleaned toward yoga and eastern philosophies under the wings of women who have founded Inner Sense Healing Arts, as well as Amber Cook and Diana Oppenheim, her 200hr RYT mentors. From all the movement communities who've welcomed her, she has developed her passion with dance as a therapeutic practice and choreography as a shared therapeutic process. Ask her about her current processes and projects! -=Xane Daniel (RIGHTEOUS Comic Series)=- Formerly a producer in the video game industry for over 20 years, Xane shifted his focus to awakening the masses, and he’s doing so through a comic book series and group healing activations. The comic series, RIGHTEOUS, tells the story of a greedy corporate analyst who contracts a supernatural disease that forces him to help others in lieu of making money for himself. When he discovers he’s contagious, he sets out to save a world that doesn’t want his help.
