We are excited to continue Sydnie Hendrix' month of Latin and Latin-inspired dancing! This week she is joined by Elizabeth Pua'enaola for a Zouk fusion lesson. As always, you don't need to attend all of the weeks, but we bet you will want to! We are also excited to have Ryan Johnson bringing us fundamentals. Matthew, Koe, and Justin are your DJs. Series Discription Latin dancing can take many forms and each can help expand your fusion dancing. This month we will be working on the basics of 3 Latin social dances and how to fuse them into your current dancing. We will touch on salsa, zouk-lambada, bachata, as well as Latin isolation and rhythms. With the surge of Latin inspiration in pop music this is the perfect opportunity to learn new rhythms and ways to dance to all types of music. We will focus on the technique Latin dances can add as well as the fun and flare. Week 2 Zouk Fusion This week Sydnie and Elizabeth will be taking you through the basics of Zouk. We will learn the footwork, posture, and basic body movements that you can apply to any dance. We will explore different types of music Zouk can be danced to and how to safely dance Zouk on a social floor. 8pm Zouk Fusion Experienced lesson with Sydnie Hendryx and Elizabeth Pua'enaola 8pm Fundamentals lesson with Ryan Johnson Dance 9-midnight with DJs Matthew, Koe, Justin Hosts: Jason and Matthew Lesson and Dance Sliding Scale* $12-$16 (If you can, please pay on the higher end to help us continue to have live music.) Bio: Sydnie is a dance instructor currently based out of Sacramento CA. Before finding partner dancing Syd has trained in jazz and modern as well as exploring may other solo and cultural based dances. Sydnie's partner dance experience started in Salsa with two years of regular training and practice. Syd since then has explored other Latin Dances, WCS, Fusion, Micro, and Blues. Currently Syd focuses on bringing a consciousness aspect to teaching and dancing. Expanding the knowledge of your mind, body, and soul through the connection of dance.
