💜🩷❤️🧡💛💚💙 June time at Shades!!! 💜🩷❤️🧡💛💚💙 **𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐰/ 𝐀𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐃𝐚𝐰𝐧 and 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐟𝐚𝐧 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐮𝐭𝐡** Intuitive Alignment including Posts & Rides!! Join June classes to learn to align your center(s) for balance and counter-balance during rotational “posts” and “rides.” No-fixed prerequisites for this class, but things to know that will help you feel successful: -Some experience in both leading and following in Fusion partner dance. -A basic understanding of anatomy and how your bones and muscles align. -The ability to balance standing on 1 foot for at least 1 min. You can also opt to let us know at the door. ------------------------------------------------------------------ 𝗗𝗝𝘀: 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗶𝗵𝘆 David started his dance journey in Lindy Hop, eventually sidling into blues and fusion circa 2016, where he fell in love with dancing all over again through syncopation, musicality, and playfulness. His sets strive to show beginners that musicality is accessible to all levels. 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗟𝗶𝘂 Jonathan is a musician with decades of experience playing the piano and singing in choirs. His first introduction to social dancing was through his college West Coast Swing club, and ever since then he has been hooked. Although he only discovered fusion a year ago, it has rapidly become his new favorite dance style due to its potential for freeform musicality. As a DJ, he strives to highlight music from a wealth of diverse genres in order to craft a dance experience that is fresh, genuine, and deeply connected. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀: 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐟𝐚𝐧 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐮𝐭𝐡 Stefan hails from the East Bay and is known for their venues, East Bay Fusion and Nested Micro. They have a deep love of principle based dancing wherever it expresses be it in the Fusion, Micro, Ballroom, Swing or Contact communities. No matter what dance they are currently teaching on the surface, deep down they are teaching connection. Come to them with your questions about partner dance the more inscrutable the better. 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗟𝗶𝘂 Jonathan Liu started dancing through his local West Coast Swing college club in 2013 and has been hooked ever since. Over the years, he has also picked up experience in Tango, Blues, Brazilian Zouk, Contemporary and (most belovedly) Fusion dance. A scientist by training, he loves to approach partner dance from a first principles-based perspective, grounding lessons in simple fundamentals rather than complex patterns. As a regular DJ in the Bay Area, he also is incredibly passionate about incorporating musicality into his teaching repertoire. As someone who picked up dance relatively later in life, Jonathan is a strong believer that anyone can learn to dance, and that everything is more fun when approached from a curious student’s perspective.
