David started his dance journey in Lindy Hop, eventually sidling into blues and fusion circa 2016, where he fell in love with dancing all over again through syncopation, musicality, and playfulness. His sets strive to show beginners that musicality is accessible to all levels.

Jonathan is a musician with decades of experience playing the piano and singing in choirs. His first introduction to social dancing was through his college West Coast Swing club, and ever since then he has been hooked. Although he only discovered fusion a year ago, it has rapidly become his new favorite dance style due to its potential for freeform musicality. As a DJ, he strives to highlight music from a wealth of diverse genres in order to craft a dance experience that is fresh, genuine, and deeply connected.

Kenya Soul, hailing from the Bay Area, draws inspiration from a rich tapestry of hip hop, Lindy Hop, blues, and occasionally anime. His teachings are rooted in improvisation, connection, and musicality, breathing life into stories through movement. He seeks to build bridges between divergent communities through shared artistic language, which is how he found his home in Fusion. His Black-experience-centered philosophy sits at the heart of all of his and Pomona's lessons. Together, they create a clear, play-focused, and light-hearted teaching environment where students are often surprised with their own creative prowess.

Taylor began her partner dance journey as a teenager in the competitive ballroom world, where she competed in multiple styles (including competing on the professional circuit in โAmerican styleโ) for over a decade. While Taylor is a dance nerd at heart with a deep appreciation for the way technique can unlock possibility on the dancefloor, her favorite part of dance is the way it enables us to connect. She stepped away from the ballroom world to dive deeper into the improvisational play of social dance with salsa and bachata - serving as the co-director of her college salsa team, directing a solo Latin Fusion team (โMoxieโ), launching and co-directing the Bay Area chapter of the Daniel & Desiree bachata performance team, teaching with Hector Reyes for the MamboNova salsa dance company, and dancing for the Afro-Modern Salsa dance company โAfinkaoโ. Ultimately, her journey led her to discover Brazilian Zoukโฆ and the rest was history. Taylor co-founded the โSotakiโ Brazilian Zouk dance school with Tom Lev in Houston, where she then spent three years helping to grow a dance community that prioritized playfulness, inclusivity, curiosity, and present connection. There are few things Taylor loves more than teaching - sharing what brings her so much joy about dance and inviting dancers to unlock new levels of play and connection within their own bodies and in the way they show up to connect with others. Youโll usually find Taylor on the social dance floor either getting up to some goofy shenanigans or blissed out in a hugโฆ and she would love to co-create with you.
