Each week focuses on a different dance—Zouk, West Coast Swing, Tango, and Blues—while introducing specific techniques for transitioning smoothly between them. You’ll build solid fundamentals in each style and develop the skills to combine them creatively, crafting your own unique fusion dance. In 2023, he stumbled into Fusion and quickly fell in love with its openness and the way the music spoke to his dance. Encouraged by East Bay Fusion host Amber Dawn, he began DJing to share the music he had been collecting. His sets blend playful, flowy music with beloved Fusion classics, lightly accented by international sounds. Saleem takes the floor on a journey, opening with upbeat energy and gradually melting into theatrical, immersive endings while staying closely attuned to the dancers and the room. 𝗔𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗮𝘄𝗻 Amber integrates her experience in somatics, neuroscience, and dance to connect with others through music and movement. She thinks of herself as an accidental DJ - encouraged by her dance partner to share her music selection with dancers out in the wild. And now she loves doing so! She likes her music the way she likes her dances: rich with story, texture, dynamic range, and emotion to foster connection on and off the dance floor. She teaches Fusion and Ballroom Dance and is a neurodivergent advocate and coach.
