About this Event

Shared Ecologies - contact improvisation & somatics workshop with Dolores Dewhurst-Marks 15-18 August 2022 Koh Phangan, Thailand In this workshop we will study the nature of water experientially, processing the embodiment of its qualities and behaviour while in physical contact with each other, relating through our fluids in touch based partner work and movement explorations. Supporting our dance to be receptive, coherent and integrative. We will practice blending mutually into continuing flow of movement, to enhance our skills of deep listening, trust in collaboration, openness to change and improvisation. The workshop consists of 3 sessions in water - in ocean & waterfall and 3 sessions on land at The Source. This somatic approach to contact improvisation invites deep listening of our internal landscapes and opens an integrative perspective in the bodymind we inhabit; expanding our imagination, cultivating a wholeness and directness in our expression, bringing relational insights and awareness for our inter-dependence. The workshop environment supports explorative and intuitive learning, with exercises and scores that guide us to be attentive for the dance as it is happening, and relate to nature as our teacher. It is open to all curious bodies and inquiring minds…whether you are new to contact improvisation or a regular practitioner.
