About this Event
Shared Ecologies - Somatics & Contact Improvisation workshop
14 - 16 April, Koh Phangan
3 mornings exploring the anatomical nature of the human body in solo and contact improvisation.
Understanding how we are internally organised brings integrity and ease to our moving body, developing our physical awareness and extending it to our dance partners.
We will enter anatomical structures experientially, discovering their functions, inherent qualities, rhythms and motions. Processing the embodiment of anatomical images through touch based movement explorations, solo improvisations, and partner exercises.
This somatic approach to contact improvisation invites deep listening of our internal landscapes and opens an integrative perspective in the bodymind we inhabit; expanding our imagination, cultivating a wholeness and directness in our expression, bringing relational insights and awareness for our inter-dependence.
We are complex organisms, I hope to make it simple enough for our curiosity to lead us, to sense and trust our bodies innate wisdom. The explorations are designed for all kinds of bodies and experience levels of contact improvisation.
