Slovenia Bachata Festival 2025 Jack & Jill Contest

🎉 Dear Dancers! 🎉 We are excited to announce that for the first time ever, the Slovenia Bachata Festival (SI) and Caribbean Dance Cup (HU) will be organizing the J&J Jack & Jill Dance Competition! Join us and showcase your dance skills with the best! 💃🕺 COMPETITION INFO: Jack & Jill format: There is no fixed partner, so dancers will switch partners continuously during the competition—both leaders and followers will dance with different partners. Registration: Registration will be open on Saturday from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Those arriving on Friday can also register at that time (at the Registration Desk both days). The competition is only open to dancers who have a full pass, party pass, or Saturday pass. Registration fee: €15 (The registration fee includes participation in the competition.) JUDGES: The competition will be judged by renowned instructors from the festival. (The final list of judges and more details will be announced soon.) MUSIC: Music styles: Urban, sensual, dominican, fusion There is no pre-selected music list. SCHEDULE: 15:15 - 16:15: Preliminaries 00:00: Final There will be a 30-minute warm-up before the competition to help you get ready! The warm-up will take place in the room in front of the main dance floor, which is also the location for the workshops and the party. SCORING: The judges will evaluate dancers based on the following criteria: -Dance technique (style, footwork, posture) -Musicality (ability to sense the music and rhythm) -Connection (interaction with the partner, energy transfer) -Leading/following technique (basic technique, leading/following) -Bachata technique (movement, hips, upper body) -Creativity (playfulness, interpretation of the music) Important! The competition results and detailed scoring will be sent to each dancer via email within approximately 4 weeks after the event. NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS: -There will be a maximum of 20 leaders and 20 followers per category. -5 leaders/followers will make it to the final. PRIZES: The top 3 winners (leaders and followers) will receive medals, trophies, and valuable prizes! Detaild prizes be announced soon.
