As DJ Zaphod, he loves to experiment. Weaving genres and rhythms you wouldn't expect, the feeling is altogether familiar. Together with the dancers, he spontaneously curates an ecstatic wave unique to that moment's dancefloor. The boundaries of genre give way to a multi-faceted soundscape of African and South American rhythm, world electronica, grimy glitchy bass, and heart-ful melodies aplenty! Currently the facilitator of Synergy Ecstatic Dance at Soft Medicine, Zaphod has been curating music since being a host on college radio in 2014. Sometimes likened to a "sound bath" or a healing meditation through sound, yet uniquely different and in that this experience utilizes the voice and original music created to resound frequencies, tones and vibrations for the upliftment and re-balancing of the body, mind and spirit via intuitive expression. It was after Gina René & Million 7's debuted their first offering of The Soul bath Experience in December of 2019 that an inspired patron renamed this particular sound healing experience a "Soul Bath" and thus this name was born. You can think of the Soul Bath as a hybrid between a deep, soulful, heart stirring concert, or transmission of songs, words & sounds, an ecstatic danceilike movement meditation, and the experience of a soul bath where participants lie down and fully receive the sounds via relaxation.
