About this Event
Salsa dancers, ever wondered why experienced dancers seem so balanced, controlled and effortless when they spin, turn and move across the floor?
The answer is often orientation.
In this 2-hour workshop, senior instructor Jai Sheffield will break down one of the most overlooked concepts in Salsa. You'll learn what orientation is, why it matters, and how understanding it can dramatically improve your dancing in both shines and partnerwork.
This is not about learning more patterns. It's about developing the underlying movement skills that make everything you already know work better.
You'll learn how to:
- Understand body orientation and why it matters
- Improve balance, control and efficiency during turns
- Execute cleaner, more consistent spins
- Maintain better positioning throughout partnerwork
- Transition more smoothly between movements
- Create clearer communication between leaders and followers
- Build stronger foundations that carry through to every level of Salsa
Whether you're struggling with turns or simply want your dancing to feel cleaner, lighter and more effortless, this workshop will give you practical concepts that you can immediately apply on the social dance floor and in class.
Suitable for Salsa dancers from Level 2 (or equivalent) and above who want to refine their technique and build stronger movement fundamentals.
For leaders and followers. No partner required.
