Level up your Cuban dance styles and get ready for an 8-hour weekend training in Amsterdam! We created this training for salsa dancers who like to add flow to their dance and would like to expand themselves outside of the "figures only" focused social dances. Program: Saturday 7 December: Son training 11:00 - 12:00 Son musicality & styling 12:00 - 13:00 Son partner work 13:00 - 13:30 PAUZE 13:30 - 14:30 Son tornillos / planchas for ladies and men 14:30 - 15:30 Son partner work choreography Sunday 8 December: Timba training 11:00 - 12:00 Afro-Cuban (Orisha Eleggua) 12:00 - 13:00 Afro-Cuban (Palo) 13:00 - 13:30 PAUZE 13:30 - 14:30 Timba partnering 14:30 - 15:30 Timba Lady & Man styling What to expect? Saturday: * Learn musicality skills to deeply connect with the rhythm using any key instrument from Son Tradicional and Son Montuno orchestras. * We’ll start from the basics, progressively adjusting the level to suit the group's needs, covering fundamental concepts and essential figures of Cuban Son. * During class, you'll receive personalized feedback to refine your style and skills. * Partner work with specific techniques to execute "Tornillos" and "Planchas" in both the lead and follow roles. Level Son: Open *For Son, it's required to have 4+ months of any partner dance (like salsa) experience Sunday: * Connect deeply with the Afro-Cuban and Timba music, interpret its rhythms, and develop the ability to move in harmony with the sound. * We'll help you break through limits, leaving behind any limiting beliefs that prevent you from confidently interpreting the Afro-Cuban dances present in some Timba songs. * Playful partner work * Receive personalized feedback to enhance your skills and bring your unique touch to the style.
