--- Join us at Bristol’s monthly Soul Dance Jam --- Come and dig into the roots of soul music with us - We’ll be playing plenty of rhythms that work for lindy-hop or blues dancing, and some that will inspire you to try out something new. We make sure there’s a good dose of full on party music, it's Friday night and we all want to let loose! So come on down if you’re a lindy-hopper, lindy-curious, a blues or fusion dancer, or simply a soul lover who likes to get down your own way. — Two special guests this time --- Richie Paradise You might recognise him from the rhythm section of some of Bristol’s best jazz and swing bands (The Big R, Jack Calloway Dance Orchestra, Ruby Jazz), and Lounge sensations Narco Lounge Combo, or you might just know him as the best dressed man in Bristol? For one night only Mr. Paradise is leaving the drums at home and dusting off his vinyl to bring us his favourite party tunes! Tristan Brightman Since setting up Bristol's “Blue Mondays” weekly blues dance (now also at the Boardroom) back in 2013, Tristan discovered a passion for helping other people enjoy this wonderful dance. Since then he’s been invited to teach across Europe, and built a reputation for fun and engaging lessons that help people change their dancing for the better. Tristan will teach a short blues taster class from 8, as well as deejaying for us. Throughout the night you can expect a good dose of classic Rhythm n Blues, plus Gospel, Doo-Wap, Hot Jazz, Motown, Chicago Blues, NeoSoul, and more... Previously we promised the music would be swing-able just for the first couple of hours, but now we’re aiming to mix it all up a bit more… this time the first hour will be all blues!
