SoulEase Sundays: The Deep Revival
Dance Church & Deep Rest for the Age of Overwhelm
"The Deep Revival is a modern ritual of embodied spirit.....
Born at the crossroads of dance, yoga, and sound healing, it’s a space where the sacred is experienced through the body—not a religion, but a living prayer of belonging."
A body-led soul revival. Sing, Move, breathe, sound, and rest your way back to center.
A Quarterly Gathering of Movement, Song & Deep Rest
Curated by Joy Lynn Okoye · Featuring Communal Song by Sheniqua Trotman
What Is The Deep Revival?
The world is loud. The world is heavy. And if you’re a deep feeler, an empath, a seeker—you’re likely carrying more than most. The weight of your story, the pressures of life, and the collective grief of a world in transition.
It’s dance church for right now—no dogma, no performance, no pressure. Just movement, breath, sound, and stillness as medicine.
But here’s the truth: Revival isn’t something that happens outside of you. It happens within you.
It happens when you shake off the weight of the world that was never yours to carry. It happens when you breathe deeper than the chaos and remember your own rhythm. It happens when movement becomes a prayer and stillness becomes a homecoming.
A ritual for our times — part live reading, part song and movement ceremony, part deep-rest immersion.
Each SoulEase Sunday opens with a spoken reflection from Joy, moves into Communal Song led by Sheniqua Trotman, flows through a movement ritual guided by Joy, and settles into a Yoga Nidra–inspired deep rest.
This Is What Happens at The Deep Revival...
We Move – The body is the mother tongue and the first church. Through movement, we meet the obstacle, shake off stagnation, and clear the way forward.
We Feel – No more bypassing. We meet ourselves with presence, power, and compassion.
We Breathe – The breath is Spirit, Source, Life. Inhale. Exhale. Return.
We Become Still – In the stillness, wisdom arrives. Yoga Nidra and meditation to restore and remember.
We Listen – In the quiet, your truth rises.
We Remember – We are a people, a tribe of love, awakening to our past, our present, and our future.
It’s a soul reclamation — a revival of the spirit — a homecoming to your deepest self.
Breath, Voice & Sound as Sacred Expression + Potent Incantation...
The breath is spirit. The voice is truth. The sound is medicine. And your word is power. Your word creates.
At The Deep Revival, we reclaim the voice—not as performance, but as permission and invocation. A way to release what no longer serves, and call in what your soul is ready to remember.
Through both guided sound journeys and intuitive vocal expression, you may be invited to sigh, hum, wail, chant, whisper, or call in the sacred. Sometimes it’s subtle. Sometimes it’s wild. Always, it’s yours.
During the sound healing portion, Joy offers channeled vocal transmissions—what some call Light Language or soul sound—that bypass the mind and speak directly to the nervous system, energy field, and spiritual memory.
Sometimes melodic, sometimes raw, always alive—this is sound you feel more than understand.
Voice becomes a portal. Sound becomes medicine. Word becomes spell. Breath becomes prayer.
The Sacred Foundations of This Work
The Deep Revival is a living, breathing practice rooted in ancient wisdom and shaped by modern somatic healing. It draws from a rich tapestry of lineages and modalities, including:
JourneyDance™ & Somatic Ritual – Guided movement to access emotional intelligence and embodied truth
Ecstatic Dance & Conscious Movement – Embodied prayer, emotional release, and trance as transformation
Yoga Nidra & Deep Rest – Restorative practices that regulate the nervous system and expand spiritual receptivity
Sound Healing & Soul Voice Activation – Intuitive vocal transmission, vibrational medicine, and breathwork
Gospel & Revivalist Energy – Reimagined sacred fire, rooted in Joy’s church upbringing and call-and-response power
Spiritual Reclamation & Liberation – Returning to body autonomy, intuitive sovereignty, and the sacred wisdom within
This is not choreography. Not trend. Not performance.
This is a temple. This is a transmission. This is your homecoming.
Come to the Altar of Your Own Becoming
I was raised in church. I know what it means to catch the spirit—and I bring that fire to the dance floor.
My facilitation is a sermon to the soul.
A revival of deep self-love.
A remembering of the God, Goddess, or Holy of Holies within you.
We are not here to escape the world.
We are here to rise in it—fully embodied, fully empowered, fully alive.

Giving Back: SoulEase in Action
This year, 50% of all profits from SoulEase Sundays: The Deep Revival will be donated to TASK (Trenton Area Soup Kitchen) — supporting their work to provide nutritious meals and essential services to individuals and families in need across Trenton, NJ.
This offering is part of my commitment to Seva — the yogic principle of selfless service — and a way to extend our collective healing beyond the dance floor.
Every donation, every movement, every breath shared in this space ripples outward.
