About this Event

Soulgasm - "Best Vibe" in Best of 2010, :"Best Monthly Party" & "Best Party To Dance" in Best of 2017 by Honolulu Nighlife Diaries “House music events live and die with Soulgasm in my opinion. They are the most consistent, most vibey events this city has for house music. Going strong longer than anything I know in the nightlife, Lyanne Brooks and her crew are so pleasant and steadfast. I’m a fan.” — SuperCW (Honolulu Nightlife Diaries) We are GOING IN FOR YOU! We are honored to present to you the Hawaii debut of one of our FAVORITES... MARK DE CLIVE LOWE ( Live Remix Set) Friday, January 17 Matt Kee, Yoh, Rayne at Bar 35 35 N. Hotel St 21+ email: [email protected] for special list **THIS IS ONE NOT TO MISS. Spread the word, spread the love, let everyone know and help us welcome our special guest for his debut at Soulgasm this January with all that ALOHA like you always do. If you enjoy jazz, jazz fusion, brokenbeat, house, funk or whatever's soulful and groove oriented you will love this whether you dance or just appreciate quality music, creativity and talent, you will love this! Musical maverick Mark de Clive-Lowe seems an impossibility at first sight - juggling beats, synths, live remixing all on-the-fly, brought to life with a casual ease that’s mind-boggling. In his formative London years, the half-Japanese New Zealander helped evolve broken beat, establishing himself as an undeniable voice in progressive electronic music. He’s collaborated with a Who’s Who of soulful club music including Kenny Dope, Jody Watley, DJ Spinna, Joe Clausell, Ge-Ology, Restless Soul and plenty more. Equal parts house head, jazz musician and live production wizard, MdCL’s sets are a treat for the dancers, the progressives and the purists alike - as he creates everything we experience by hand from scratch - beat by beat, record by record. Whether he’s in LA or traveling the globe for his acclaimed club night "Church" or bumping his unique creations for the dancefloor, remixing classic Blue Note Records on the fly, on stage joined by the likes of Kamasi Washington o r Omar, or creating solos at a grand piano with a drum machine, MdCL is “a musical force unlike any other". "Way before jazz hybridity became a worldwide phenomenon, de Clive-Lowe was busy designing its blueprint.” - Jazziz "an underground phenom..." – Okayplayer "...a timely reminder that some of the greatest producers, in line with the likes of Quincy and Stepney, are also musicians with chops as well as smart adventurers in sound." - Echoes (UK) "a vet at lining up electronic music, funk, jazz and percussive low-end music from the African diaspora into a connected frequency.” - 48hills "Connecting eras, sharing ideas. Yes indeed CHURCH sessions coyly alert the new Jazz consortium, in the most ebullient way. WE bEEN Out HeRe." - 48hills
