About this Event

The Edinburgh Jazz 'n Jive Club will go super big on this Friday: We're presenting The Sound of Seventeen Big Band, a 17-piece ensemble led by Nick Gould! Based in Edinburgh, the band started originally as the Royal British Legion Big Band and has, over the past years, appeared at several Jazz festivals, including the North Sea Jazz Festival and those in Montreux, Cork, Derry and Edinburgh. Expect music from the well-known Big Band repertoire, ranging from the Swing Era (Glenn Miller etc.) to more modern sounds - but always swinging! The Edinburgh Jazz 'n Jive Club offers on Fridays live Jazz music in a relaxed club house atmosphere, with a bar and an excellent, wooden dance floor. The music is generally suitable for dancing Foxtrot and Swing (Lindy Hop, Shag, Balboa). Come along to listen to superb Jazz and to dance the evening away! No need to book in advance, just come along! The entry fee is £15 for non-members and £12 for members. Entry is free for accompanying carers and accompanied children. The fee can be paid at the door by card and cash. The main entrance is from Bangholm Terrace, with step-free access from Warriston Gardens corner Inverleith Row. Entrance fee and programme are subject to change.
