South Street Salsa Ladies Team Auditions

South Street Salsa is holding auditions for our ladies styling team May 9th from 9pm to 10pm. For those who cannot make the 9th, you can arrange to audition May 13th but must send notice ahead. This team will be a 15 week project with rehearsals held every Monday from 9-11pm culminating in performances in the local area throughout the fall. This is an opportunity for the advanced beginner and early intermediate student to focus on their salsa styling, technique, and body control. Salsa experience is necessary but if you are comfortable in our level 2 class or have tested into our level 3 class, this is designed for you. A couple notes about the team: -The costume won't be too revealing. -The costume will be affordable. I'll try to keep the main pieces under $150 total (not including skin-tone matching shoes). -Non-performing participation is allowed. I want to give everyone who makes the team the chance to train. About the audition process: -It will run like a normal class. I'll teach a combination, we'll practice it and at the end of the time we'll record it once or twice. I'll give decisions after reviewing the videos. -Be on time. -Wear sweats or leggings and a t-shirt. Bring your dance shoes or socks and a water. We're a pretty casual team. -We're looking for reliability, focus more than anything. Salsa experience is necessary Dues: $150 per month (limited student discounts are available upon request) Dates: May 16th, 23rd 30th June 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th July 11th, 18th, 25th August 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th FAQ: Am I guaranteed to perform? -We will have 2 rehearsals towards the end of the season where I will record your run-throughs of the choreography. If you are about to do successfully perform the piece by then you will perform. If I don't know if I want to perform yet but do want to train what do I do? -If you want to keep the option to perform open you must buy the full costume as it will sell out as time passes. If I'm going to miss some/several rehearsals should I still do the team? -Message me and we'll discuss. Making up the rehearsals is possible and there is time built into the season to account for missed days. If I let you know ahead of time cat I get credit or a discount on the monthly dues? -Partially yes. If you are going to miss 1 or more rehearsals in a month and you let me know in advance you can pay a discounted due of $120 for that month.
