Southgate Swing - The Louise Messenger Swingtet - Wed 22nd December

Southgate Swing proudly presents a new weekly swing-dance club on Wednesday evenings at The Southgate Social Club, Chase Side, London N14 5BP. The swing nights feature live bands, playing the classic swing songs of the 1930s, 40s & 50s, with dancers from all over London ripping it up on the club’s fabulous wooden dance floor! This week we have The Louise Messenger Swingtet - Louise loves all things swing. Her greatest influences are Carmen McRae, Ella Fitzgerald, Doris Day, Keely Smith and the Boswell Sisters. As well as classic jazz standards, she is always seeking swing tunes that are a little left of centre, and loves to bring back to life songs from Tin Pan Alley and the Great American Songbook that have been forgotten. With a dynamic and smokey voice, Louise loves to entertain and connect with her audiences. An avid swing dancer herself, she loves to sing for dancers as well as jazz lovers, and can most often be found on stage completely unable to stand still.
