Join us Sunday, October 27, 2024 for our Spooky Swing Social featuring special guest, Martin Chilvers! Martin hates to admit it, but he has been dancing Lindy Hop for over 20 years! He was part of the resurgence of the dance in Australia in the late 1990's and then moved to Austin, Texas when the Swing Revival there was at its most crazy! Martin has been lucky enough to have been taught by many of the legends of the dance from across all eras, and tries his best to do them justice through the lessons he teaches. Martin emphasizes the energy, spirit and playfulness in the dance whilst grounding everything with solid technique. For some reason, his favorite saying in class seems to be "Boo-Yah", but you will have to come along to find out why! 3-5pm Lindy Hop Fundamentals with Ursula 4-6pm Intermediate Lindy Hop Martin & Elaine 6-6:30pm Beginner Swing Lesson with Ursula 6-8pm Social Dance Online price: $25 for both workshop and dance! Door price: $25 for the workshop, $10 for the dance. Spooky refreshments & drinks will be provided!
