Spring Bloom: Ecstatic Dance, Workshop, Live Music

Come dance with us to celebrate the start of spring with ethnic electronic music, a fusion dance class, live music, and an assortment of fruits & teas at Spring Bloom! Music and Movement are at the heart of this event and everyone is welcome. The Spring Equinox coincides with Nowruz (Persian New Year) so we will be bringing in elements of Persian culture through decor, offerings, and poetry by Rumi & Hafiz to mystify the evening. A general outline for our evening is as follows... Arrival (6:00 - 6:15PM) Opening Circle (6:15 - 6:30PM) Dance Class (6:30 - 7:00PM)* DJ Set (7:00PM - 8:30PM)* Live Music (8:30 - 8:45PM)* Closing Circle (8:45PM - 9:00PM) *More details & artist biographies below ~~~ DETAILS Date: March 12th, 2023 Time: 6-9pm Location: Friends Quarters (328 W Hastings St Unit 110, Vancouver, BC V6B 1K6) ADMISSIONS General - $35/person Youth (12-18) - $25/person Bring a friend! - 2 for $60 Groups of 5 of more ~ $25/person Children 8 years old & up are welcome but they must be comfortable with loud music & a sober party scene (ear protection is recommended during the DJ). This workshop is designed for everyone and no prior experience is required to participate in it. Here's a little note from our instructor Jessica... "We will explore a germinating seed as it emerges from Earth's nurturing soil. We will celebrate the coming of Spring and the renewal of life through Fusion Style dance movements. Like the seed, we too are growing in our own ways and we can experience these movements of emergence and growth together in this nourishing space." We'll be taking a musical journey around the world in a celebration of culture, mysticism, and raving. Siren's style of music is a blend of big bass, ancient mantras, ethnic instrumentality, and mind altering wubbies to really get the dance floor moving & grooving.
