Spring Fling - Swing Dance Fundraiser Social

The cherry blossoms are beginning to bloom and we're ready to celebrate with an SDC fundraiser dance! Come put on your dancing shoes and support the Swing Dance Club at UMD while enjoying West Coast Swing and Lindy Hop dance lessons, a fabulous showcase, and plenty of social dancing with DJ 4ier (John Collini)!! Special showcase including The D.C. JT Junior Varsity AND Varsity Swing Teams, directed by Erica Smith, the UMD Pa'Lante Dance Company, and a Lindy Hop performance by the Swing Dance Club at UMD! Held at the University of Maryland, College Park campus, this event is open to all dancers, brand new or experienced! No partner required. A minimum donation of $8 suggested for non-UMD community members at the door via card or Venmo. Additional donations towards the club will also be accepted at the front door. FREE for UMD students, faculty, and staff! All donations will go towards the swing dance club for instructors, room reservations, future socials, etc. to promote the enjoyment of swing dance. -------------------------------------------- SCHEDULE (Subject to change closer to the event) 7:00 - 7:30 : Beginner WCS Lesson taught by SDC officers 7:30 - 8:00 : Beginner Lindy Hop Lesson taught by SDC officers 8:00 - 9:00 : Social dancing (mix of WCS & Lindy Hop) 9:00 - 9:30 : Performances *JT Swing Team, JV and Varsity *Swing Dance Club at UMD 9:30 - 11:45 : Social dancing (mix of WCS & Lindy Hop) --------------------------------------------- See you all on the dance floor!
