2024 marks the third year MUD Session is collaborating with Soul Sessions Oslo during their Encounters festival. One could say that it's becoming a goodwill tradition. As last year, MUD aims to provide a club night that elevates expectations and gets you going on the dance floor. This time around MUD truly feels privileged, as one of the staple underground clubs in Oslo's club circuit is hosting us, and our choice of booking at their "Frædag" concept: Jaeger Oslo. Jaeger has been providing a wide selection of club concepts for over a decade, and is a mainstay for high quality underground bookings, be it locally or from abroad. His musical palette navigates through a wide selection of different soundscapes, seamlessly blending Hip Hop, House, Disco and Ambient music to name a few genres. As a DJ, weaving moods between deep and soulful sounds, while drawing heavy inspiration from genres like jazz, funk, soul and gospel music. His music paints a vibrant and ever-evolving tapestry that combines organic elements with cutting-edge electronic vibes. Renowned for his output, Hugo has released his innovative work across respected labels such as Balance, MCDE, My Love Is Underground, NDATL Muzik, People Of Earth, Local Talk, R2 and Slip 'n' Slide to mention a few. In an impressive display of creativity and range, Hugo LX has graced the scene with over two dozen releases in the last five years. Recent highlights include collaborating with the legendary DJ Spinna for a series of EPs on the acclaimed NDATL Muzik label, dropping captivating singles under MCDE Recordings and Mona Musique, and delivering transformative remixes for stalwarts like Satoshi Tomiie, Rick Wade and Karizma. This remarkable journey has solidified his unique position in today's electronic soundscape. Deeply connected to the pulse of Japan's dance music scene, Hugo LX has been at the forefront of the Japan Connection Festival in Paris, orchestrating musical experiences with Kuniyuki Takahashi. Beyond the decks, he's also expanding his horizons in Hip Hop and Ambient music, showcasing his versatile talent. As we speak, Hugo is pouring his soul into new projects set to be released in 2024. The Oslo-based artist has released impeccably produced music on a tight selection of renowned labels, including finding a regular home on supreme Norwegian imprint, Beatservice Records, as well as benchmark UK disco imprint, Paper Recordings. Aged just 25-years old, the depth of his musical wisdom and the influences he carries into his essential productions are nothing short of staggering. Traversing dreamy soundscapes that blissfully range in tone through lounge, jazz, ambient, trip-hop and house, his work is endowed with a supple musicality that belies his tender age. DJ Ghar घर, known for his deep dives into underground music, delivers sets rich in House, Disco, Funk and Broken Beat genres, reflecting his eclectic taste. He's a prominent promoter and has played at major venues and events across Oslo, warming up for notable acts. DJ Niwin extends his talents beyond the decks as a music producer, sound engineer, and owner of Niwin Music Records, producing for various artists and stage productions. His ever-expanding catalog showcases his affinity for Hip Hop, Funk, Disco, and House genres. Niwin's work is characterized by a strong intention to inspire movement on the dance floor. Both DJs have played venues within Oslo’s club circuit and with international artists, making contributions to enhancing Oslo's dance and club scene through their musical selection. MUD Session concept was born in New York and created by the female House dance crew MAWU back in 2009, and later on brought to Norway, Oslo in 2015. Since then, MUD has been a common meeting ground where we share our spirit and love for House music, House dance and club culture. The concept mainly has its roots in house, disco, funk and boogie music genre, and aims to recreate the atmosphere that has existed in various clubs and underground scene in New York since the early 1980s. With us, we always have our resident DJs, DJ Ghar घर and DJ Niwin, who aim to take us on a musical journey. Our monthly sessions have moved through different venues in Oslo: Dansens Hus, Kyrre Texnæs Studio Sentralen and Melahuset to mention a few. In addition, MUD is currently running through Oslo’s club circuit: Revolver, Blå, Ingensteds, Jaeger Oslo, Oslo Camping and SALT art & music to name a few.
