About this Event

Lots of fun in store — looking forward to seeing folks! As always — bring water, and dress to move! No need for a dance partner, we rotate in class! Please remember that all of our classes are quarter-long progressive series, so you will get the most out of them by attending every week, and we strongly encourage you to do so. Subsequent classes will assume that you have attended previous classes, so you may be at a disadvantage if you do not regularly attend. That said, we understand that folks travel over the summer, so if you have to miss a week or two here or there, don’t worry too much — you’re still welcome to attend, just with those caveats! SSD Tuesday August 5: Koret Pavilion 7p-8p Explorations and Fast Dance Explorations: Asymmetry (intermediate/beginner+ Lindy Hop) with Jacqueline and Maiya will focus this week on the principle of asymmetry with some new exercises and vocab. Fast Dance: Balboa II with Emma and Chris will launch our summer introduction to Balboa! Don’t forget that this dance heavily involves close embrace — please pay extra attention to hygiene before you come :) 8p-9p Foundations and Vernacular Jazz Foundations: Charleston I (beginner Lindy Hop) with Maiya and Jacqueline will introduce Charleston, a Lindy Hop precursor that is bouncy, fun, and blends nicely with Lindy! Drop In Beginner — If you are new to Lindy, and missed last week, we will help you get up to speed! You’ll start with the Foundations class for warm ups, and then we’ll get you up to speed to join Foundations next week! Vernacular Jazz: Trickeration III with Max— this is week 3 of a 3 week mini series learning the Trickeration! Come wrap up this tricky classic routine choreographed by Norma Miller! 9p-10:30 Social Dancing! Join us for fantastic DJed dancing featuring all of your fave solo jazz routines and the occasional Jam! There will be vanilla cardamom shortbread!
