This long-awaited dance was originally scheduled for March 20, 2020, and now, at last, is finally happening! So prepare for the EXTRAORDINARY! The good news is when the magic is so powerful there's no hiding what's beneath the surface. The Govinda show is a multi-sensory experience - an immersion within textured tribal-bass, woven with Romani melodies and live violin for a truly magical dance experience. Govinda is the alter-ego of Austin based producer/composer Shane Madden. Shane's musical ingenuity stems from learning violin with masters across the globe. He began studying violin and composition at the age of eight and went on to study classical violin at the University of Texas where he fell in love with electronic music production. It was in Madden’s pursuit of his Middle-Eastern and Spanish roots that he opened his ears to music from around the world. From experiences learning violin with mysterious masters on his journeys across the globe and his passion for modern design and technology, the current sound of Govinda was born. Govinda has played with Thievery Corporation, Tipper, Bassnectar, Shpongle, Cheb I Sabbah, STS9 and many more and been featured on over 25 compilations such as Buddha Bar II, Asian Travels II, and Nirvana Lounge. Govinda has played at numerous festivals throughout North America including Coachella, Lightning in a Bottle, Sea of Dreams, Shambhala, Sonic Bloom, SXSW and more. Govinda’s music has had many synchs on TV and independent films and has over 5 million Spotify plays to date. DJ Morphonic is both a name and a purpose. As a name, Morphonic is the DJ project of Maurice Legendre, based in Asheville, NC. As a purpose, Morphonic is the mission to instigate transformation in people through a sonic experience. Knowing first hand the profound change that can occur from the unrestrained expression of music through dance. Like a butterfly released from its mundane existence as a caterpillar, music can be the chrysalis that gives wings to the dancer and the wind to dance upon. Morphonic travels across genres from the deep vibrations of bass music and the undulating rhythms of world beat, to the fun and funky vintage sounds of swing, soul, blues, jazz and rock remixed into upbeat electronic dance music. Variety is the spice of life and Morphonic serves up the right flavor to fit the mood.
