About this Event

Who: All children (BOYS AND GIRLS) in Moab and surrounding areas ages 7-18 What: Summer Salsa Empowerment Dance Camp is a week long program for children of all ages in Moab who are interested in Latin dance and performance! We will focus on timing, footwork, connection, and self expression through interactive play and workshops connected with AfroCuban rhythms! The overall focus of class is learning to come together as an empowered dance team over the course of the week. Friday and Saturday will focus on a beautiful choreography with World Pro-Am Dancers, Frankie and Sade. Workshops from Monday - Thursday will be with local dance instructor and Moab Salsa Bachata Festival Director: Hurricane Rita. Hurricane Rita has four years of experience teaching school age children social dance and has instructed adults in six countries over her 11 years of teaching social dance. Friday and Saturday form and choreography workshops will be taught by Frankie Amparo and his protoge partner, Sade Montoya, now 15 years old. Frankie has a primary focus on training kids to dance, perform and compete at world class levels. His energy is perfect for Moab and guaranteed to have a profound effect on your child's growth.
