Sept. 10th - DJ: AguaMayyim Contact Improv: René Alvarez DJ: AguaMayyim AguaMayyim is a collaborative music project between Franky Helix and Rose Dayal, born out of their deep love and mutual passion for the healing power of sound. Franky developed a passion for musical alchemy early in life and has been a DJ and music producer for over 20 years. He has traveled the world playing festivals and shared the stage with artists such as Tipper, Bluetech, OTT and more. With a movement and art background his selections will inspire dance and creative flow. Rose is a DJ, sound healer, singer, and musician whose passion for music began at the age of 2 when she would freestyle rhythmic poetry to her parents. She derives much of her musical inspiration from the elements of the natural world and the deep realms of the unseen. She believes music, sound, and especially our voices are some of the most potent healing tools we have. Expect to be taken on a rhythmic, sonic journey through melodic deep bass, medicine, tribal, afro rhythms, booty-shaking beats, and hip-hop. René teaches/curates weekly CI classes in Berkeley. This was their 22th year of participation at Burning Man, teaching/curating classes for Camp Contact. René is an organizer for the West Coast CI Jam (wcciJAM), and the founder of InterKinected LLC whose mission is to investigate and promote Contact Improvisation, through organization and sponsorship of classes, jams, festivals, intensives, laboratories, films, media and showings.
