Feb 12 - DJ: Scott Nice Contact Improv: Merrick Jacob DJ: Scott Nice - Informed by his personal healing journey Northern California producer Scott Nice brings a union of electronic and acoustic sounds to both move the body and feed the soul. World prayers, flute and hand drum samples are a hallmark of Scott's sound while the juxtaposition of his hip-hop turntablist roots create a one-of-a-kind dance journey. Since 2016 Scott has released 6 full length albums working with many amazing collaborators such as El Buho, Mose, Poranguí, Alex Serra, Liquid Bloom, The Polish Ambassador, Ayla Nereo, Wildlight, Uji, Yemanjo, Volo, DJ Taz Rashid, Equanimous, and many more. Contact Improv: Merrick Jacob (she/her) is a lover of movement, continuously in awe of the body and its potential for unique expression, creativity, & authentic connection. Influenced by her background in figure skating, AcroYoga, hand-balancing, Gaga, and contact improv, she guides playful movement experiences as an opportunity for deep listening, exploration, and co-creation. She is a certified AcroYoga Teacher with AcroRevolution & AcroYoga Montréal. Merrick studied a variety of somatic movement therapy modalities with Dynamic Embodiment & The Moving On Center: School of Participatory Arts & Somatic Research, focusing on BodyMind Centering & Laban Movement Analysis.
