Sunset Zouk Sundaze is a workshop held to promote zouk and introduce concepts in zouk that allow us to gain a better knowledge and to comfortably understand zouk. The classes provided are particularly catered to brand new zoukers. Each week we will introduce, focus, and explore various basic concepts that are essential to breaking down and introducing zouk. There will be a FREE 2 hour practica that is open and invites ALL ZOUKERS to dance and share zouk with each other, EVEN IF THEY DID NOT ATTEND THE CLASS. Why? When I took my first step to learn zouk, I was so happy I made the decision to try something new. I immediately fell in love with the dance and questioned WHY every single person in this world doesn’t know what zouk is?! It was then where I decided that I wanted to do my best to make sure people knew what this liberating dance was. From that point on I told all of my friends about zouk, even if they did not dance. I wanted people to fall in love with this dance the same way I fell in love with it. As I have furthered my journey in this dance, I have realized how strong my passion is and has grown for zouk. I have also realized the many positive changes it has made in my life. My mission is to promote the dance zouk as a whole and to gain peoples interest in zouk with classes that will introduce newcomers and keep them wanting to understand and learn more. I invite ALL zoukers to attend the practica because I believe you are all a major contribution to this community and without you we would have nothing. I invite you to come and share a dance, exchange a conversation, bring a friend, and inspire others to learn. I invite you to show new zoukers how open, loving, accepting, and supportive we are of each other. I invite all to engage with each other and inform one another about other classes, instructors, and events in all areas. I invite EVERYONE to spread the love of this dance that we all love. Zouk Essentials: This class is designed to break down essential zouk concepts I find helpful to begin your zouk journey. Each week we will focus on introducing a particular concept simplified that will help you gain a better understanding of the dance. Comprehensive Zouk: This class is designed to complement the Zouk Essentials focus.
