𝘼𝙇𝙀𝙓 𝙁𝙄𝙂𝙐𝙀𝙄𝙍𝘼 Alex is a Venezuelan-Portuguese musician, producer, DJ and record collector who just relocated from Amsterdam to Brussels. He’s known as "the hardest working man in Tropical music"… with good reason. He’s tirelessly pushing forward with his ambitious DIY-approach handling literally every part of the production process of his records: from music production to playing all instruments, mixing, mastering and artwork. He’s the founder of critically acclaimed tropical psych punk outfit Fumaça Preta, afro-caribbean psychedelic sensation Conjunto Papa Upa, legendary record shop Vintage Voudou Records, tropical experimental label Music With Soul Records and the Heat Too Hot studio. He just released two highly recommended LPs which emphasize his unique take on Tropical music: his solo-debut “Mentallogenic” and the no less inspiring “Pura Maldad” together with his band Lola’s Dice. 𝙀𝘿𝙉𝘼 𝙈𝘼𝙍𝙏𝙄𝙉𝙀𝙕 Edna Martinez sets tell of the musical journey between Africa, the Caribbean and the Levant, especially the sounds of the Cultura Picotera from the Colombian Caribbean, where she grew up. Musically, she represents the diversity of the Picó sound system universe: Soukous, Benga, Mbaqanga, Soca, Pachanga, Highlife, Zouk and more. Edna has been living in Berlin for about 7 years. Since then she has enhanced the city’s music and cultural scene with her event series "Prende la Vela", "Latinarab" and "El Volcan". The latter is the only Picó Soundsystem party in Germany, which she puts on together with our dear friend DJ Nomad. She is a curator for music and sound practices at Haus der Kulturen der Welt and does radio shows on NTS, Radio Alhara and Worldwide FM. ¡bailemos y divirtámonos! 𝙆𝙊𝙎𝙈𝙄𝙆 𝙆𝘼𝙏 With Croatian-Bosnian roots and raised in a German-Croatian patchwork family, he developed a fascination for the soundtrack of the diaspora at an early age. As a DJ, he skillfully blends captivating music from around the world with a flair for the dancefloor. He is a musical jack-of-all-trades, known for curating two albums for the Nippon Connection Film Festival and performing at festivals and clubs across 4 continents and 21 countries as part of the Analog Africa Soundsystem. Additionally, he co-organizes diverse club and cultural events, including LAZY, Halva, Africadelay, Saravá, and Super Discoteca Tropical. As a collector and ambassador of tropical music, Kosmik Kat has showcased legendary acts like Anibal Velasquez, Ebo Taylor, Karl Hector & the Malcouns, Konono No. 1 and Orchestre Poly-Rythmo De Cotonu, as well as respected DJs from Antal to Alma Negra, Coco Maria, DJ Kobal, DJ Pãulao, DJ Tahira, Nickodemus and Hugo Mendez (Softrito) in Frankfurt over the past two decades. In his sets, Kosmik Kat seamlessly merges global rare grooves with cutting-edge sounds.
