'Swing Around the World!' - World Lindy Hop Day Edition

Come join us for our 'World Lindy Hop Day' edition of Swing DJ Relay. The goal is to build a playlist together based on this month's theme, which is playing a favourite tune from your local scene! We recognise that jazz and swing originated in the US from the Black community, and it has its reach in all corners of the world and we wish to highlight that this month. We would also be raising awareness and funds for the Frankie Manning Foundation. Like every month we will kick things off with a song where anyone can call dibs to play tunes. For the songs to follow, call dibs and just justify why your song is a good follow-up to the one that was just played. Newer DJs, we would love to hear your favourite tunes! This event is designed to be beginner friendly, educational, and most importantly fun for everyone involved - step in the virtual DJ booth and share your favourite swing songs with our international DJ community! Priority on who gets to play a song will be determined as follows: 1. Top priority goes to the person who has not yet had the opportunity to share a song during the event. 2. If there are multiple people who fit this criteria, the tiebreaker will be the time stamp of the Chat message. 3. If there are multiple people who have already DJed during the event, priority goes to the person who DJed “longer” ago. Online link will be posted 15 min before the event.
