Swing DJ Relay Celebrates 'A Great Day in Harlem'

As winter thins into February, join us for yet another session of Swing DJ Relay inspired by Art Kane’s iconic "The Great Day in Harlem" photograph from 1958. We’ll celebrate the musicians in that legendary photograph by sharing music tied to them: original recordings, popular tunes and albums, rare takes, rediscovered sessions, and contemporary tracks carrying their influence. Bring tracks connected to any or many musicians in the photo. Share a short note or anecdote on why you chose the track. Expect a range of sounds including: big‑band classics, bebop fireworks, blues and, vocal gems. Zoom link will be provided 15 minutes before the start of the event. Swing DJ Relay is a monthly community event where DJs, dancers and musicians from all over the world get together to discuss the music and the artists that make us dance.
