Swing in Rhythm summer lessons - Roffa Ramble

💥NEWSFLASH! 💥 Our Summer classes schedule is VERY close to completion, but one event takes place soon, so it's time to tell you all about 'The Roffa Ramble', Rotterdam's own jazz routine! The routine was choreographed by Wouter in 2019, to be performed at Harbour Hop the next year (and we all know why that never happened). It's a challenging but fun routine danced to Jimmy Lunceford's 'Strictly Instrumental'. This song also has a connection to the Rotterdam swing dance community. Lindy Focus, a swing dance event in the USA, was transcribing old recordings from specific artists so that their songs would be able to be performed by modern swing bands. In 2017, they chose Jimmie Lunceford as their featured artist. Roffaswing donated to the initiative and funded the transcription of this song! It only seemed fitting to use this song for the routine.
