That's right - SWING JAM! is happening again. Get ready for the new edition in one of the oldest (dated back to 1839) working restaurants in Finland. SWING JAM! is a social swing dance evening with live and DJ music and taster class of Lindy hop basics. Everyone, regardless of their dance skills and experience, is welcome! *** Scroll down for the program *** =================================================== LIVE MUSIC The coming evening's entertainment and music will be brought to you by Friction Swing featuring Eddy White. This fresh swing dance band from Helsinki already showed that they can keep the dance floor full by playing classic swing tunes with a touch of modern jazz essence. Eddy's vocals and vigour will add a whole new dimention to their performance. "Friction Swing is a Helsinki based jazz band formed in 2017. The line-up is based of an international bunch of experienced musicians, singers and music enthusiasts. We want to play groovable and danceable jazz music for all kinds of audiences. We play “traditional” jazz standards as well as more modern music. At the moment we have been mostly playing live music for Lindy hop dancers in the Helsinki metropolitan area. Come to see and hear us live!" TASTER CLASS of Lindy hop is for those who are curious about this dance or would like to improve their basic skills. The class will start with the very fundamentals and advance as far as possible for the duration of one hour. Taster teachers: Caroline Moinel & Andžej Miloš. SOCIAL DANCE The restaurant offers a nice wooden dance floor. Everyone, regardless of experience, is welcome to step in and swing there! Breaks between the band sets will be filled with swing music by DJ Antsu. TICKETS will be sold at the place. Price: 10 eur + 2,5 eur for cloakroom. Earned money goes to support the evening's musicians, the dance organizers and the co-organizer Golden Classics, who offers a "big living room" for everyone who loves golden decades music and culture.
