Two Swing / Jive classes (Beginner & Intermediate) with world-renowned teacher Simon Selmon, stylish Anna Lambrechts & the colourful Baroness JoJo Top Swing DJs Mr Kicks & Baroness Jojo Dress Code: Think poodle skirts, scarves, bright colours, bowling shirts or loud suits & colourful ties A night of live Swing music and dancing. Rouge your knees, shine your shoes and prepare to enter a razzling dazzling world of Swing! From the decadent 20s Jazz age, the glamorous 30s, the spirit of the 40s, to the rebels of the 50s, experience a whirlwind of live music and dancing. Follow the Swingdance UK team to pick up some moves at the start of the evening, then step, stomp and shimmy your heart out for a whoopee good time! Never danced before? Join our beginners class at the start of the evening and learn all the moves you need to join in a night of raucous live music and fancy feet. Experienced dancer? Join our intermediate class at the start of the evening for some new ideas, inspiration and good old-fashioned moves. Shimmy and shake to a cocktail of the best sounds of the 1920-50s. Take to the floor or just sit back and enjoy some hot live jazz and jump blues. SwingDanceUK's Swing For the Crown Dance Competition: A jam style competition open to all styles of Swing including Lindy Hop, Shag, Balboa and Jazz Roots (couples only) In the tradition of the Savoy Ballroom, the competitors will be judged by audience response using the official clapometer. There will be 4 heats where 3 winners will be picked from each heat to come back for the final on Monday 17th September to battle it out for the title of King or Queen of Swing and a £200 cash prize!
