Headlining will be the world travelled EYAL VILNER BIG BAND! Plus, internationally renowned Nathan Bugh and Gaby Cook will be presenting pre-dance workshops in the Charleston genre. Later in the evening, don’t miss dance performances by two groups. 9:45PM a splendid student group led by Adrienne & Rafal 10:45pm a pro team showcase – Details TBA All the while we’ll be in Centennial Celebration mode in honor of 100 years since the start of The Roaring Twenties. Through both the dance and music we present, we’ll be acknowledging the links between the early days and it's influence on what followed. WORKSHOPS 6:30PM (55min) – SWING WORKSHOP | 1920s Partnered Charleston (Adv Basics and up) Location: Auditorium L2 Kick up your heels with 1920's partnered charleston! We'll go over the basic rhythm of charleston, traveling patterns and the fundamental ideas that define this dance! Instructors: Nathan & Gaby 7:30PM (55min) LINDY HOP | 1920's Lindy Hop (Intermediate and up) Location: 4th Floor In celebration of the Centennial of the Roaring Twenties, this class teaches students the earliest forms of lindy hop! Learn new versions of familiar steps that help you connect with pre-swing jazz styles. Instructors: Nathan & Gaby 7:45PM (30 min) BEGINNER SWING | Level: Beginner Open Location: Auditorium L2 This class is great if you're new to swing or if you would like a refresher on partnering. You'll learn techniques that will bring you up to speed with the crowd of swing dancers. This class is FREE with your General Admission ticket.
