STREAMS:
LINDY HOP:
-Improver (SOLD OUT):
This is not a complete beginner level, you'll be familiar with fundamentals (Swing out, Lindy turn, Lindy circle) and are eager to start widening your dance vocabulary. In this level there will be a lot of focus on technique and Leading/Following.
-Intermediate (SOLD OUT):
You have been dancing for around a year. You are expected to be in control over both eight count and six count moves, and be able to mix the two different basic steps without a problem. Being in control over how to Lead/Follow is more of an afterthought than the main concern.
-Intermediate/Advanced (SOLD OUT):
Dancing experience 2 years or more. Your dance connects to both your partner and the music. You can Lead/Follow clearly and should be able to manage slow tempos as well as fast. Your technique and basics should be at the level where you can use different rhythmical variations and improvise.
-Advanced (SOLD OUT):
You've been dancing for 3 years or more. You have no problem Leading, Following, playing with musicality to a high level, and dancing to really fast music. You cannot count how many moves you know. You have your personal dance style that makes your dance different. You teach at a local level/would be considered one of you scenes top dancers.
SOLO JAZZ (SOLD OUT):
-Intermediate +
You want to take your solo dancing to the next level. The aim of this stream is to push you as a dancer, so you will focus on technique, control and most likely a bit of style. This stream is aimed at dancers with experience of Jazz and who are familiar with the majority of the basic Jazz steps.
FOLLOW STREAM (SOLD OUT):
-Improver+
This is a great opportunity to celebrate the importance of follows in swing dance. This stream will help you develop confidence in adaptability, body movement and rhythm, not only allowing you to express yourself to music in solo dancing but also in partner dancing. Working on movement, flexibility and the broad spectrum of what following is all about will help you become not only a better follow, but a better dancer as well.
TEACHER'S TRACK (SOLD OUT):
Our new stream last year was a great success! Starting to teach, or been teaching for ages? This track will get you on the right path with a Q&A style approach with some great content thrown in. Our teachers are the top of their game so you're learning from the best! Sign-ups must sign up as a couple.
SHAG:
-Beginner/Improver (SOLD OUT)
This stream is aimed for dancers who have seen Shag on the dance floor, tried it out a few times (done a taster day/a few lessons), but just need a crash course to really get going! This stream will have a Lindy-to-Shag fast-track approach, so this is not for people who have never stepped foot on a dance floor!
-Intermediate/Advanced (SOLD OUT)
Two Shag streams! We're super excited to be able to provide more Shag for the growing scene in the North, and indeed the UK. This stream is for dancers who have been Shagging for at least 9-12 months and who have a solid grasp of moves and rhythms associated with the dance. This will be a jump up from the Beg/Imp stream so be prepared to Shag your heart out and go back to your scenes ready to take on those faster tempos!
